Hartford extractions
A dental extraction is a last resort. It's always preferable to be able to keep your natural teeth for life, if possible. When it's not, depend on us at Contemporary General Dentistry for gentle, expert, effective care in the removal of your tooth.
It's important that you feel comfortable, so the first thing that occurs before our
Hartford extractions is the application of local anesthesia. You'll be numb so other than sensing the exertion of pressure as our dentist takes out the tooth, you will feel nothing. And while some teeth are more accessible than others, you won't have to worry, because the skilled removal of your tooth will make for a smooth process no matter if the tooth is in the front or way in the back. After the tooth has come out, you'll be given some gauze. A bit of residual bleeding is not unusual after oral surgery, so there is no cause for alarm. After our Hartford extractions, you should follow the guidelines we supply you with as closely as possible. For example, eat only soft foods, such as broth, gelatin, and pudding, for the first 24 hours. Rinse frequently with warm salt water. Use over-the-counter pain relievers to address any discomfort once the anesthesia wears off. And use an ice pack to manage any swelling. You'll want to replace the tooth sooner rather than later, and we are pleased to put in dental implants. It's important to fill that empty space, not only for cosmetic benefit, but to prevent the shifting of your other teeth, and to restore effective chewing.
Our
Hartford extractions are a necessary treatment when there are no reasonable alternatives for retaining the tooth. Count on our office and our dentist for experienced, individualized care. Contact our office to arrange a prompt appointment.
